It is unlike anything else in the world!
When you feel the first movement (sometime you're not really sure exactly what you are feeling) - it's like feeling a butterfly flutter and as months go by, the baby grows, and you feel more movement.
My first one (a boy) was quite active; pushed against my bladder a lot, a lot of moving and pre-mature labor contractions.
My second (a girl) was quite serene; just enough movement to let you know she's there but not enough to keep you awake.
My third (a boy) was also quite active; he seemed to love to dig his toes into my rigs a lot.
With all three, as the baby grows - the mother becomes more and more uncomfortable; it becomes more difficult to sit down, the baby's movement can wake you up in the middle of the night and you sleep when the baby sleeps.
The number one best thing; you never have to change a diaper!
You even get to a point, when you have an active one, where you begin talking to the baby; i.e. "ok, settle down now. It's time for me to get some sleep - what are you doing in there - here, listen to this music".
Then, after all of this (the really active movements), the pain begins - the baby is born and guess what - the baby sleeps a lot.
Then you ask yourself 'why are you sleeping so much now when you were so active inside of me'...............................

It does feel weird... and wonderful.
It's so strange to have to take special care of everything you do because it effects someone else. In the beginning, you know they're in there and you think you accept that fact as weird as it seems. But then they start moving and you realize the reality of there being a whole other person inside you.
That's when it becomes amazing, because that's when you begin to get to know your child; long before they come out, long before anyone else. They have likes and dislikes (my Little one bounced around like crazy whenever I drank Chocolate milk!), they have patterns of quiet sleep time and active awake time, they even get the hiccups!! You have your ultrasound and you see their little arms and legs. Then towards the end you don't even need any fancy machines, there's so little room that you'll see a "lump on your bump" and know it's their butt, or elbow, etc... Or you can watch them roll over and just see a wave go across your belly. It's absolutely awesome. I remember that first night after I gave birth laying in my hospital bed while my son was in the nursery rubbing my "deflated" belly and missing him, because he wasn't just mine anymore, I had to share him with the world.

To be honest it does feel strange! I know it's considered a very natural thing but it's a little science fiction to know that a human is literally growing inside me!!! I am now 25 weeks so the baby is constantly moving and kicking. Today she managed to successfully reach my ribs for the first time, and it's been a fun game all morning for her! :)
I think it feels like muscle twitches (sometimes VERY strong twitches) when she moves around....some people say it feels like a goldfish swimming, or popcorn popping...to me it's always felt like a muscle spasm.

At first it does feel strange knowing that a "person" is inside of you, but after awhile you get used to it and once you deliver the baby you really miss having them inside of you. That's how it was for me.

It feels just like you have a baby inside of you. Imagine swallowing something that is alive. You can feel them move and kick and you can tell when they're sleeping. When they kick and punch it can feel uncomfortable sometimes and even hurt at other times. But it is all worth it. If you really want to be a mother, having your child inside of you is a really great feeling.

Yes in all honesty it does feel strange when they start to move. There were some nights when my son would go nuts in there and flip around and kick and it just feels like you dont have control over your body. However in the same moment it is beautiful. Knowing that your child is growing in your belly. Nothing in the world lke it!

When the baby was getting really big, I could look down at my belly and see an elbow or knee poke out or move across my abdomen. I felt like that guy in "Alien" just before the alien creature burst out!
LOL! Love all the alien comments!

It does feel strange! But it also feels amazing, because it's so different from all the other things that go on inside your body. There is no control over it! My baby is very active, and he uts his feet and hands in all kindsa weird places. Sometimes it startles me, sometimes it makes me laugh outloud, espcially when he's kicking with both feet.
It really makes you fall in love with them.

It's AWESOME. I miss it a lot and can't wait to start feeling this one (13 weeks!). It feels like butterflies at first, and as the baby gets bigger, it feels like kicks from the inside (which is what it is). Enjoy it!
