5y + 1.8 - 4y = 4y - 3.2 - 4y

y + 1.8 = - 3.2

y + 1.8 - 1.8 = - 3.2 - 1.8

y = - 5

You have to isolate the variable
5y-4y=-3.2-1.8
1y=-50
y=50
