My last period was 1/12/2007 just found out Monday i am pregnant, i need to quit smoking now, i have already cut down but need any advice on somthing that could help me quit altogether. Thanks very much

COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD FOUR BABIES AND GIVEN UP SMOKING EVERY TIME ITS NOT EASY. YOU NEED TO TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME, IF YOU CAN GET THROUGH ONE DAY THEN YOU ARE STONGER THAN YOU THINK. THEN SEE IF YOU CAN DO TWO DAYS ,THEN THREE. DON'T THINK OF IT AS GIVING UP FOR GOOD JUST THINK OF IT AS NOT SMOKING TODAY. GET HTROUGH EACH DAY AS IT COMES. YOU WILL BE SURPRISED BEFORE YOU KNOW IT YOU WILL HAVE DONE A WEEK AND THEN TWO. REWARD YOURSELF WITH A LITTLE TREAT AS YOU GO ALONG. MAYBE A NEW HANDBAG OR THAT TOP YOU SAW IN THE SHOP THE OTHER DAY. ALSO THINK OF THAT AMAZING LITTLE BABY GROWING INSIDE OF YOU AND GO FOR IT! BUT DON'T FEEL BAD IF YOU STRUGGLE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF PREGNANT WOMEN OUT THERE WHO DON'T EVEN CARE. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SMOKING AND THE PRGNANCY.

I used the cut down method... I cut back to 5 cigarettes a day and chose a quit day. The next week, I cut down to 3 cigarettes a day. When quit day came, I quit. It was hard at first, I munched on snacks all day. After a couple days... it gets easier. After 2 weeks, you hardly think about it.

Good luck and Congrats! I know you didn't ask for the above info but i felt like doing it. My daddy would chew chewing gum every time he wanted a cigerette and he quit smoking and i am telling you he smoked 2 packs a day so you can do it.

Just think about your child when you go to smoke. When I was pregnant I thought about my baby 24/7 so I'm sure you won't forget when you put that cigarrette to your mouth. Think about what is best for your child. Think about what might happen if you do smoke. Good luck quitting!

Read all sorts of things about tobacco and its effects on your fetus...yes--freak yourself out about it--print out materials off the internet and then xerox them onto larger paper--and then paste them all over your fridge andhouse--You are not quitting for you--you are quitting for your child--so remind yourself about this--It is a life/death matter for your child...also--find something else to get into--Start getting into organic, healthy foods--start shopping at your local health food store--it's all about lifestyle--start hanging out with health nuts and soon you will be one too--find out what do healthy people do, eat and drink? And then start doing it--yeah--at first it may feel phony--like you are forcing yourself to get into things you don't like--but pretty soon you will start to change--it's all about choices--so choose for a healthy pregnancy--Good Luck--and congratulations!!

One idea would be to start chewing gum when you feel the urge to have a cigarette.
