Are there federal or state grants available for the production of a movie?

If not, how do people raise money to make Hollywood films?

There are private grants that a filmmaker can get. You can get grants if you are addressing a certain topic or if you are a certain type of filmmaker (Think women in film, gay/bi films, musicals, human rights, etc.)

If you want federal money, go to Canada. From what I know, the government aides in the film financing process.

Hollywood films are funded by the studios. (Universal, MGM, Warner Bros., etc.)

Producers also pitch to investers. There are people out there with money that they invest in the arts. Remember, investers and studios will only invest if they believe they will get a return on the investment. In other words... the script better be really good.

dude the government does not give out money to make movies

people usually don't need to raise money, because a major Hollywood studio is producing the film...they've got a TON of working capital

The final action picture I cherished him in became 4 Weddings and a Funeral. he's been entire crap in each thing else he's accomplished. any extra, all Hugh furnish's roles would desire to circulate to the two Jason Statham or Vinnie Jones.
