As recently as January 17, 2007 we had snow in Malibu Canyon a part of Los Angeles: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2007/01/17/state/n163827S39.DTL&type=printable

If you meant Louisana: Baton Rouge is humid-subtropical, with mild, short, wet, and somewhat warm winters and long, hot, humid, wet summers. Even though snow is almost unheard of, the last snowfall took place in 2004; the snow took only hours to melt. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baton_Rouge,_Louisiana)

It's pretty infrequent, but it does happen. It happened just a little while ago (maybe a month or so) and some people also forget that there are mountains near the LA area, where it snows regularly.

It snowed 4" in Anaheim back in the mid 80's. I think it was 1984. They had to close Disneyland.
