Manning, Brady, Young, Marino, Montana, not necessarily in that order

1. Brett Favre: He's about to break nearly all of Marino's records and he has won a Super Bowl. He is one of the toughest players to ever play football. He has great dedication, even to play right after his father died, and he found out his wife had cancer.

2. Joe Montana: He was the all time clutch performer, and never let his team down in the Super Bowl.

3. Dan Marino: Championships or no championships the man still dominated his position. The QB can do a lot to help his team win a championship, but sometimes he cant do it all and he needs help from his coach and everybody else on his team. None the less still one of the greatest QB's of all time.

4. Terry Bradshaw: The best QB in the 70's he won 4 rings with the Steelers.

5. Peyton Manning: He's on his way to breaking the records that Favre is about to break. He won the Super Bowl. He is the greatest passer of our time, and I think in ten years he will be on top of this list.

Honorable mentions: Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Bart Starr.

1. Dan Marino - Imagine how many Super Bowl appearances he'd have if his Dolphins ever had a running game. Making the one with no running game was impressive enough, and his passing records (some have since been eclipsed by Manning) speak for themselves.
2. John Elway - Nobody was better at snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, although it could be argued that his Broncos were more balanced than Marino's Dolphins, hence the reason for falling to #2.
3. Joe Montana - Sure he played on some great 49ers teams, but as Rex Grossman proved this past Super Bowl, you have to be a competent QB for four quarters to win a Super Bowl, and it's very hard, if not impossible, to argue with the fact that Montana was the leader of his FOUR Super Bowl championship teams [with two of those victories coming against Marino or Elway (Montana beat each of them once), but that was due to Montana's superior supporting cast, which is reflected in these rankings].
4. Brett Favre - The NFL's version of Cal Ripken, Jr.: great player and great longevity.
5. Johnny Unitas - Unfortunately, I can't list reasons, as his career ended before I was was old enough to watch the sport.

Regular Season QBs

Dan Marino: Totally unparelleled. The master of the regular season as Montana was master of the playoffs.
Jim Kelly: Unstoppable for a long time. Very efficient, with a big arm when he needed to go deep. K-gun offense was awesome.
Warren Moon: Threw a beautiful ball, accurate and strong. As far as delivering medium range lasers, he is second only to Marino.
Brett Favre: 3 straight MVPs, the clearly best player in the NFL for good stretch of the 1990s. With good speed and a cannon arm, he is, along with Elway, the greatest physical specimen to ever play the position.
Peyton Manning: Efficient, in control, a perfectionist in every regard. Machine like in his consistency. Doesn't throw a great ball (kind of wobbly) but almost always hits the defense's weakness and is very accurate.

Of the five above, only Favre maybe Marino are in the REAL top 5, which includes Montana, Elway, Unitas.

I will give you two, and who are similar with the exception of championships. One of the most recognizable quarterbacks without one is Dan Marino, he has held, or holds a majority of his own records, he was loyal to his team, he could have and should have bolted when he realized that there was no shot that he would ever win a superbowl with them. Another great QB that has stayed under the radar because of the lack of a ring, is Jim Kelly, i mean this guy did make it to 4 Superbowls, and had it not been for a kick that went wide, would own a ring as well.

Unitas
Marino
Montana
Staubach
Elway

If you put anyone besides Unitas as your number one, you're just plain nuts! Dan Marino is the saddest story in the NFL for being that good and never winning a championship. Joe Montana, I don't think I need to explain a thing for. Probably the most fun QB to watch EVER. Raw talent and precision passing. Oh, and he also had Jerry Rice. I hate the Cowboys, but I give respect where it's due for Staubach. And Elway carried his franchise to so many playoff beths and Super Bowls before he ever won one and when he did, he did it back to back.

Manning, Montana, Marino, Unitas, Staubach

in that order... Manning is now the greatest because he finally has a ring over his records, which he'll have the rest of by the time he retires. He is the only true field general out of the 5.

Favre, Montana, Marino, Elway, Bradshaw
I put Favre on top for several reason, One his stats of course, two He has a Ring, Three he is pretty much indestructible, and finally and this is probably the most important is his undying passion for this game, He is one of the most fun players to watch love him or hate him when he does retire the NFL will lose a big Piece of it's heart which is already dying do to the players the likes of TO and Keyshawn Johnson, and every other player that plays for there paycheck and not for the love of the game.

In 40+ years of watching the NFL here are my Top 5 QBs of all time:
1) Elway - mobile, great arm, fearless, 47 come from behind wins, most total wins, carried on his own shoulders the Broncos to 3 SB loses before winning the last 2 with excellent teams around him
2) Marino - best pure passer of all time, smart, quick release
3) Unitas - great passer, called own plays, great clutch player
4) Staubach - mobility, smart, great arm, great athlete
5) Montana - smart, quick release, some say the best ever but I say he played on some of the greatest teams ever
