It is Gheorghe Muresan(thats the correct spelling). He wore number 77 and he stood at 7'7". He spent most of his career with the Washington Bullets before becoming an actor. He also had a small return to the NBA where he played 31 games with the New Jersey Nets. His height was due to a pituitary disorder. He was only a few millimeters taller than Manute Bol.

That would be Gheorghe MureÅan and Manute Bol at 7'7" But Muresan was a couple of millimeteres taller so he is considered the tallest player to play in the NBA.

Gheorghe MureÅan is 7'7" and is supposedly 2 mm taller than Manute Bol. The tallest player ever drafted is Yasutaka Okayama, who stands 7'8", but he has never played in an NBA game.

I think that the previous answer is correct but Bol must be taller because the 76ers had Shawn Bradley and he stood at 7'6" as well. I'll go look it up.
oops! Forgot about Gheorge M.
