I read somewhere that if someone close to you dies, the chances of you getting sick or dying is high. Look at poor Anna Nicole Smith - her son dies and she dies soon afterwards. What do you guys think?

Absolutely true. I have learned by observation, that when someone experiences the loss of a loved one, it is just a matter of time before they come down with an illness that involves the lungs-ie., flu, asthma, colds, URI's of any kind, and typically severe/long lasting.
I find it interesting that according to the teachings of homeopathic medicine, the lungs are the organs which are most susceptible to illness from grief.
These reactions in the body keep us mindful of the connection between mind, body, and spirit, and that what affects one aspect of us affects all aspects of our being.
I too am saddened by her early death- I had hoped that someday we would see her finding some peace in her life, and that maybe her new little girl would give her the determination to make wiser choices that would bring her some healing on all levels.
Good question.

Despite the fact that Anna Nicole Smith probably died from abusing drugs, she, ultimately, died of a broken heart after losing her son. It happens a lot.

I think that's true. I think that if you lose someone you really love and care for, it puts a lot of stress on your body. People who have been married for a long period of time will pine away for the person who died. Sometimes they just get sick. Other times they will get sick and die.

Actually they say that Older Long married couples do this.
It's true to some extent. Friends & Family need to help the survivor over this hump. Be there to alieve the lonliness.

Absolutely TRUE! Anything that adds stress to your life - even positive changes like a vacation or marriage - can result in changes in eating, sleeping and exercise habits that lead to being run-down and susceptible to infection.

i think she was a drug-addicted manic depressive. But generally speaking, yes, health and general wellness has a LOT to do with mental state and your general mood. Many studies point directly to laughter and happiness as being great treatment for any illness, and it stands to reason that great sadness triggers the opposite response and makes you more susseptable to health problems.

Yes sick, but not necessarily dieing. It is because when you are under high amounts of stress and depression your immune system is weaker making your body more susceptible to viruses.

I absolutely think so. Even if she took too many drugs and had such a crazy life, she had a broken heart. I just imagine that being me and my son dying, I know I would die too.
