The best indian team going for the World Cup after the 1983 Presidential Cup. India has found good openers in Ganguly and Uthappa, with Sehwag in there too. Yuvraj, Dravid, Dhoni and Tendulkar steady the middle order to form one of the best middle order batting. Lower middle order of Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer can hit a few runs too.
As on bowling - Zaheer and Sreesanth/Munaf Patel will be opening and are not as bad. Kumble, Harbhajan and Sachin - Sehwag can bowl many spin overs between them. That leaves one guy extra. He can be employed as a strike bowler - Irfan/Sreesanth or Dinesh Kaarthick as the 11th guy. Irfan can bat as well.

It is a very powerful batting line-up, and make take a beating on their bowling lineup.
Quality Fielders are in plenty - Yuvraj, Uthappa, Sachin, Kaarthick. Fielders like Munaf Patel will have to be hided on the field.

There are all winning chances for India. India will reach the semi-finals for sure.

Without experimentation you can't get better. When those experiments succeed we call them strategy.Isn't it? We have so many talented players that it's not easy to chose the best and let go of the established players. Let me tell you even Dhoni is not the best choice as a wicket- keeper because Kaartick is a lot better keeper than him in some people's opinion. Also, when you have to chose between Uthappa, Ghambhir, Sehwag, Sachin, and Ganguli whom would you chose? And from Sreesanth, Patel, Irfan, Agarkar, and Zaheer you have to chose only two what would you do? Select a player blindly or take into account the player's fitness, pitch condition, balance of the team? When the opening batting order keeps failing time and time again. You have to switch the bating lineup and that is something requires experiments. Maybe Chappell has tried way too much and that has caused unnecessary psychological pressure on not only the players but cricket loving fans like us as well.

i agree with u..dis experimentation should hav been completed 2months back, and the best 12 should hav been playing now..anyways as a fact, at the present moment nothing can be done, as the concerned people acted in a non-proffessional manner, hence it is advisable for the team to open the innings with best and experienced pair..,i.e sachin and ganguly.
