Sorry to hear you sister stole your ideas! On the other hand, you could use them anyway, after all you were there first, and the men will probably not exchange notes or comments!
If all else fails, you could take that twenty and go off to a pound or discount shop and simply pick out things that you like on the spur of the moment.
I like that idea. Things could range from some sort of odd sweets to body spray. I usually use upscale toiletries but some years ago, I found a cheap cheap kind that works good for some occasions.
One never knows what good things one can find on this sort of shopping expedition. It is indeed like a treasure hunt of sorts.

If there is a Dollar Store close to you, you could put a lot in a basket of love! Buy some chocolates, a scented candle or two, a nice frame to put a picture of you into, a bottle of after shave or cologne, two or three of his favorite snacks, and a nice card. You could also buy a knickknack, like a cute teddy bear holding a heart or flower, a book of poems, etc. What a nice thought for a Valentine's Day gift! If it comes from your heart, he will love whatever you give him! Annie

I bought a keepsake box, and filled it with his favorite chocolates and these cute candle holders that read " I Love You". Cologne, a picture frame with your picture, anything that has special meaning to just the two of you.
