I have checked the fuse for it, and it is not that, I don't know what else to check or what else could be the cause of the problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there,
Might be a strange answer but make sure the hinges are lubricated and free as these are used as an earth for the rear wiper and heated rear screen on most Fiesta's, Hope this helps.
Cheers

Take the two wires off the element connectors. Switch on and using a bulb across the wires see if they are delivering juice. If so the element is broken somewhere and can be repaired using a paint on electrically conductive varnish from most car shops. If not it is probably the switch. Otherwise an unusual and probably obscure wiring fault.

Many times it is the contactor plate that is on the slam pannel and the lower edge of the tailgate

Later models do not have these and then I would look at the wiring that passes to the tailgate at the top and these do fracture. Will need soldering to effect a good repair

Check the wire connection on the rear screen and also on the rear of the switch as well. If all else fails take it to your local garage (NOT MAIN DEALER) to get it checked out.
