Give him his time to wake up in his own slow, crabby way and go about your morning on your own. Every person is different and he's obviously not a morning person; don't hold that against him and don't aggravate his crabbiness by persisting on talking to him and trying to cheer him up. That'll probably only make him crabbier. You'll both be happier if you keep your morning routines separate. There's nothing wrong with having alone time, time to get yourself functioning in the morning. Best wishes!

I've been married to a man like that for almost 14 years. He gets up and heads to the kitchen for his coffee and breakfast. After about 30 minutes he is awake enough to answer an question with more than a grunt. The only advice I would give to you is to give him his space until he wakes up fully. I'm glad you're not taking it personally because it is probably just the way he is born!

My husband and I used to have that same 'problem' ... until he had a 'major stroke' and was tested for 'sleep disorders' ... so I think that you should take your husband to a 'sleep disorder clinic' to be checked out, because that 'crabbyness' and being 'slow to get into gear' after he wakes up is a 'strong symptom' of sleep apnea. You could be saving his LIFE and if he has 'apnea' he can get a 'cpap machine' to help him keep breathing properly all night' and he'll 'pop out of bed' in the morning, too, bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Remember, you've already had your wake up time. Back off and give him a chance to welcome another day.....and don't criticize hime , thats how some of us wake up....but if it last all day you got a different problem.

just give him some space. have coffee waiting when he wakes up, and ease into talking to him after he's had his first cup.
