Rest assured a healthy awake baby won't stop breathing.
Make sure the baby is safe and secure, fed and changed, then put in crib and go to the bathroom.
Sometimes soothing music will help.
If you are doing everything else the way you are supposed to, then crying won't hurt the baby, and you need to be able to use the bathroom.

ok. edit your question with the age of your baby.
Is there something wrong? Is your baby in pain? It's tough when they can't talk yet...to tell you what the matter is. Poor thing. Are you sure it's a "fit"?
I am sorry this is happening to you. If it makes you feel any better...I didn't take a bath again until my kids were in school. Young moms don't really get time for themselves....This is the part they were warning you about. (Or never mentioned)
Your baby will continue to cry...be sure to get yourself away from the screaming if you feel like you are stressing out. Even for 10 seconds...try to be calm and then go back to your baby.
Dont forget...this is a baby. A person that is relying on YOU.
Sometimes....when its really loud and the baby is completely engaged....start singing quietly. ( I used to just sing the ABC's or slow christmas carols...Silent night)...babies will sometimes stop screaming just to try to figure out what they are hearing. It will calm you down too. Good Luck.

How old is your baby? Maybe you should just ignore him when he throws his fits so he realizes they're pointless?? I don't have children yet so I can't give you advice from experience, but I'd still suggest letting him throw the fit without giving him any attention. Put on a video for him, or some music. If that doesn't help, ask your doctor for some advice!! Good luck!

Ive never personally had this problem but my mom did with my baby brother the doctor told her the only way to stop it is by ignoring it. Dont worry if he does pass out they will start to breathe as soon as they get unconcess. just watch to be sure and let him go

WHEN MY NIECE WAS A BABY SHE CONSTANTLY CRIED AND NO ONE COULD FIGURE OUT WHY. SHE WAS WELL FED, CHANGED, AND EVERYTHING WE COULD THINK OF. WHEN SHE WENT IN FOR A CHECK UP, THE DOCTOR CONFIRMED THAT SHE HAD BEEN IN PAIN FROM A HERNEA IN HER ABDOMEN. SO DON'T JUST IGNORE IT, BECAUSE IT MAY BE SOMETHING SERIOUS. BUT AFTER THE DOCTOR HAS CHECKED AND HOPEFULLY THERE'S NOTHING WRONG , THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST LET HIM/HER THROW THOSE TANTRUMS.
