make sure you have a filter plugged into every phone socket that has a phone in your house. check the phones to hear if there is cracking noises if so then faulty filter and needs to be replaced. . it can also be a faulty modem or faulty ethernet cable (check if there is a green and amber light where you plug ethernet cable). maybe be a faulty network card. it can be so many reasons. so best thing to is to contact the tiscali tech support guys to do some tests on your line, an engineer may have to come out to do others tests. but overall tiscali is rubbish cause iv worked as tech support for them before.

You want:

- clean phone line, no extensions or anything on it, either plugged in or wired in around the walls, NOTHING, seriously!

- the microfilter plugged RIGHT into the master phone socket - no extension on that

- the ADSL modem within a couple of metres (RJ11 cable length) of the microfilter

- any phones you have plugged into the microfilter (doesn't matter what happens to the phone line after that)

If you have all that and there's no service interruptions known by Tiscali, then your modem is goosed. If you don't have that arrangement, get it and try again.
