Like the other responses it depends on your make up of your house.

Try getting a wireless detector or just carry your laptop around the dead spots. You can always do the following:

1. buy a bigger antenna at least 7dbi or above
2. buy a directional antenna that will point to the dead spots
3. install www.dd-wrt.com and increase the output strength. By default linksys only pushes out about 25% of its signal strength, i increased mine to about 75% and it is a huge improvement.

You shouldn't have any problems. I have the same router, and get a good signal in a three story house. Including Basement!

It depends on the construction of your house. I would invest in one with at least 2 antennas for best range/signal quality. You're thinking correctly to put it on the middle floor. Never put one in an unfinished basement.

Best of luck!

A instantaneous modem router could be a instantaneous router/modem combination and a instantaneous router might merely be a router via itself. in case you had intense-velocity cable internet you may choose a modem linked to a instantaneous router to get on line.

As long as you don't hav concrete walls or floors, your signal should be plenty strong.
