Also who exactly should be held responsiable for slavery? I had nothing to do with any of it. Neither did any of my ancestors. Though as a person who looks white, In public I am catagorized, written off, tried and convicted on sight as being racist. Though I am neither. I think it is time everyone stops judgeing people by the color of their skin. If you see me out I'll give you a smile and treat you with respect, weather you are cream, ivory, light brown, dark brown, black, olive or red. This is a whole country of immigrants, isn't it time.

I'm not Jewish. I don't have white or black skin. Racial issues are effecting everyone in someway. I wish there was something to celebrate everyone. An organazation to be part of to promote the end of racism.
Even somewhere to share information that might help the next generation accomplish this goal for all people.

European ancestry makes you white, unless you LOOK non-European and have a parent with racial lineage from another continent.

There is no one person alive who had anything to do with slavery. However, there are companies, organizations and governements that are. Also just because you are not responsible does not mean that you are not still recieving the benefits of slavery. If you agree to give up the benefits and ask for 10% less pay on average. Have 1:3 of your male family members have some form of contact with the justice system during your lifetime and agree to allow the global community to view you and all other Europeans as nothing more than entertainers and atheletes, then you can absolve your self of any responsibility or need to compensate the decendents of slaves.

Why do white people get so jumpy when black folks bring up slavery? I talk about it like I talk about the holocost...and NO I don't hold all Germans accountable, not even Sigfried and Roy who's parents WERE nazis!!!!

I no you had nothing to do with slavery but do you think the racial system brought about by slavery doesn't give you an advantage as a white person? Do you deny that in the United States of America there was white privilege up until ATLEAST the mid 1970's (when I was born)? Do you deny that white immigrants were granted more rights than black Americans???? They could vote, blacks couldn't; They could live in any neighborhood they could afford, blacks couldn't; They could go to schools in peace, blacks couldn't....

You really need to get real. NO you are not a slave owner BUT do not for one instance believe this country became equal in 1865 when the slaves were freed. DO NOT believe for one second white skin doesn't get you more places in this country. PLEASE read history!!!!

I agree, the majority of white people in the US are descendants of immigrants. I have been saying that for years. that black Americans have been here the longest. because white people were a minority in the early US, so only a smal percentage of white people are descend from the original americans and only a small percentage of them even owned slaves.

I'll answer this for fun. Not like this matters, since we are all human.

I consider most Europeans white, excluding Italians, Greeks, Spanish, etc. I do not consider Jews, or other middle easterns white. Basically, if I look at someone and wonder where they are from, they are probably not white.

The people who participated in slavery should be blamed for it.

My grandparants were slaves in the old country. That's MORE RECENT (early 1900's) than black slavery in the U.S. Should I hate people from that country? Should I sue their government?

Blacks think they get a bad deal, and often they do. They at least have numbers enough to have a voting block. Try being an Eskimo or a Native American or a Buddhist. Those people have no voice other than more numerous people taking pity on their situation. There is no one to represent them. Nobody to RUN AND CRY TO.

I understand it's hard to be a white person nowadays when your not racist. I hate to say this, but it still is hard for a black person to trust white people, because we don't know if your racist or not.

Once I was with a friend and her mother (they were white) and we saw a group of black boys. She called them ******* in front of me. She did apologize, but I was shocked. Now I'm wary of white people, because you never know.
