Let's see if an old lady can explain it to you. The only reason Black people "shout" Black Pride is because for years (and I mean centuries), being Black was a thing to be ashamed of: we were captured and brought here as slaves, we were not citizens, to a lot of people we were not even considered human. During slavery times, Blacks who showed exceptional intelligence were considered the same as a trained dog. After 400 years of being told you're nothing, it was a culture shock to be told that Being Black was not only okay, but a good thing. After all, only the strongest survived the brutal voyage from Africa to the Americas, locked in the hold of a ship, in crowded, miserable conditions, with little food, no medical attention, and very little hygiene. So when James Brown said "Say it loud, I'm Black and I'm proud!, he was teaching a whole generation of Black people that it was okay to be Black, it was okay to be proud, that we were not the second-class citizens we had been told we were. White people shouting White Pride is racist because White people have the control: they have the money, they have the jobs, they have the property. And being proud of what you are isn't racist. Italians are proud of being Italian, Irish are proud of being Irish, Indians are proud of being Indians, etc. It is when you use it to denigrate and disparage others who aren't like you.

Totally agree.what if we had special colleges for just white people,or a united white people college fund. And why is it that blacks can have these things and it is ok.
Maybe I am going to get in trouble for for bringing this up,I am shure it will offend people,but oh well I think it is time we are all treated equall,the last time I checked I havent seen anyone legally selling or trading slaves for a long time,several generations ago,why are we still being held responsible for the sins of the forfathers,and why should these generations of blacks that are as free as anyone else with even better opprotunities than us whiteboys be treated like they are owed somthing.

NO. It doesn't matter of you shout "black pride" or "white pride", they're BOTH equally racist. Any thing that attempts to put one race before or above another is racist.
While I would never intentionally hurt any ones feelings, I think the Politically Correct Faction have gone totally overboard, and they can ALL go to hell.

whites alrdy had their white thunder at the expense of the black community. the world fails to acknowledge the black holocaust- did u no just as many blacks were killed in the trans atlantic slave trade than jews in the holocaust in europe?? only 1/3 of the black cargo survived the voyage across the atlantic to the new world to work on tabacco and cotton plantantions, rice fields and sugar fields. therefore, yes.....black pride is allowed bc they are paying tribute to their culture from which they were exploited from for capitalism. and the white communioty isnt allowed to say white pride, because they lost that privaldge back with their crimes against humanity.

I don't think so. Did someone tell you that? Cuz if they did they deserve a slap!! lol. I think all races should be proud of themselves. We're all people. Screaming White Pride is a great thing, screaming White Power would be a whole nother issue. though, just a thought.
Wait a minute ppl. Since when has pride and power been the same thing? Everyone should be proud of themselves. It's not racist to be proud. That would be like telling a school teacher she's playing favorites by being proud of one of her students!! Being proud of youself has nothing to do with putting yourself before anyone else. I'll never be ashamed of me cuz I'm a personality to be celebrated. As well as everyone else is. Everyone on this forum is a personality to be celebrated cuz that's what makes america so great. the fact that we can believe and be proud of anything we want to be. Stripping us of that would be making our lives no better than the slaves back in the day!! So like I said, I expect white ppl to be proud of themselves, there's no reason not to be. I just don't expect them to claim superiority, that's why I think White pride is different than white power.
As for Sweet teach, I hope she's not really a teacher cuz if that's what your teaching your kids your spreading hate. I can't stand when ppl tell ppl to go back somewhere!! That's so ugly. None of us belong here, not even white ppl. Thank god! My niece and nephews aren't being subjected to that type of training in school.

Yes we are not allowed to be proud that we are right, we need to accept everyone as equals. Although the system is set up that if you aren't white you get more college tuition and more assistance in life. It's unfair, if we are all suppose to be equal, we should be treated that way. If you need more equals of racism against white people look at award shows. There is the Grammy's and then the seperate race Grammy's... But everyone can win at the main Grammy's but only the seperate races can win at their own Grammy's... I HATE that!

Yeah, would you walk behind someone carrying a swastika and yelling white power?
When white people do that it is like, "Derr, you already own everything. What are you yelling about?"
I am white by the way and old enough to remember the KKK alive and well in my town when I was a kid. Sounds like way too many people don't remember.

Blacks shouting "Black Pride" is an expression of diversity.
Whites saying a well spoken black politician is "articulate" is racist!

I would think that anyone shouting anything pertaining to a color would be racist. As far as politically correct goes, I don't think anything is correct about politics. Thank you and GOD bless.

Yep that's the way it is. So unfair that white people are so quickly judged by our skin color (and that's not racism). Some people need to live in the present and stop thinking that everyone owes them something. If anything, they owe our ancestors for taking them out of Africa! And for those who don't like the ways things are here and think things are better in Africa by all means....GO BACK!!!
