Just different customs. Other places it's an initial, like George W. Bush or F.Scott Fitzgerald, or two initials, like A.J.Foyt. The Native Americans in my area have four names - nickname, Christian name, Indian name, and secret name. How many names have you been called by, including screen names and pet names?
