I like your question... people are afraid to be their "true" selves and let the chips fall where they will.

My wife would not have had me if she had been her true self.

But once people have another person trapped in the legal bind of marriage until divorce, or spiritual bind of marriage until death, then they let their true self/agenda come out... therein lies the agony of marriage.

What we really want is someone who accepts us the way we are... but we don't go after this in an effective manner. We think we get this when we take our vows, but only the other side of the vows shows if that's what we got.

When guys are dating it is like a sale, buying a house or a car. You see the best the product has to offer, because that is all that is presented. The wedding is the close of the sale. Too bad people dont see the enggagement as "the inspection" and bail when they're buying a "pig in a poke". Too many marriages are spawned from misrepresentation.

Of course that doesnt mean this are irreparable. If both of you can commit to settling in to a harmonious lifestyle. You will enjoy your marraige.

Man, I don't know. It's kind of like there is a dysfunctional glitch built into our brains or something! Maybe the finality of it all makes us change. If someone says "everyone is not like that," I'm going to need a word with your SPOUSE. LOL.

Many are like that. Before we are married it is a show intended to attract a spouse. Once you have them....

show's over.

Not everyone is like that.

u sort of answered ur own question....when ur dating u are trying to "secure" the person and impress them and ur always on ur best, in marriage u have already got them and dont feel the need to impress so much..and u live together they see u at ur worst and stuff....its inevitable.
