it depends...if you list with someone else after your listing expires, you will owe realtor #1 nothing if the buyer wasn't brought to your home by him/her (in Massachusetts). I can't speak for CA law though.

If you or the Realtor has not been involved with this individual than it all yours. Are you prepared for the paperwork and all the ins and outs of the contract? Here is my best advise. Even though the contract is expired it will show in MLS as X=. Now the offer is in, call your previous agent and NEGOTIATE AT 3% for their services. Check the old contract % was between 5-7%. Hire the professional to handle ALL the paperwork, she may even do it for 2%-= but be smart and negotiate. Web site/sigh- oversight- call her- better still it got you some business leave it there.

She is not entitled to commission if she didn't produce the buyer, meaning she has no previous contact with the potential buyers.
The fact that her sign is still on your lawn and website, shows that she hoping to get a buyer still. She has no right to continue to advertise your home on her website or continue to ask as your realtor, by leaving her sign on your property. As for the listing on the MLS, if it had been input correctly, it wouldn't still be on there. When they input new listing, they enter the dates the listing was contracted for with the seller. The listing would automatically fall off the public MLS once the contract was set to expire.
If I were you I would contact the her broker and let him know that you want the sign removed and your listing removed from the internet. You wouldn't want them to try to stake any claim to commission, if they didn't sell your home during the contract period you had with them.

As long as the offer was not brought to you or procured by the agent you were formally in contract with you don't owe them a commission. you are now considered a Fisbo or for sale by owner. you are free to take the offer but you should still use a lawyer. The fact that there are adds or sighns up after the property is expired does not give the agent a right to a commision after the contract is expired.

In most cases, after a real estate contract expires, your agent is required to give you a list of people that they drew to your property within 3 days of cancelling the contract. Anyone on that list who buys your home, agent gets paid. If not, they're screwed.
Call her and make her get the sign out and get the home off the MLS. She should've done that a week ago.

you shouldn't owe any commission if buyer came to you and not thru her. getting you off mls and her website isn't your responsibility, it is hers. Likewise, it is her sign, but probably best you get it off the lawn. Talk to your lawyer, a realtor scorned can be a nasty sight, and there might be claims about what was or wasn't said about renewing the listing and stuff like that.

It greatly depends on how the person knew about your house. If it was a direct result of her sign/mls, its very likely you'll owe her the commission.
