i just got a IUD and need to know how long i should wait before i have sex the doc recommended i wait until my next period?

If you're asking with regard to contraceptive protection, the IUD's coverage is immediate, because it irritates the lining of the uterus so IF an egg is fertilized, it won't implant.

If its a matter of personal comfort, that's a matter of personal preference. If you feel up to it, go to it. If not, then don't.

I have the Mirena IUD and I was told it was effective immediately.

I had one a few months ago, and the doctor told me it was effective immediately and I could have sex whenever I felt comfortable.

I had to attend about 2 weeks and used a condom. Please mail me in case you opt on yet I have tremendous concerns about the mirena coil! I have purely revealed a Q on melancholy and pressure I have suffered and have self assurance there's a link to using the mirena.
