Ignorance is NOT bliss. If you didn't know that if you couldn't swim and get in water over your head, you would drown, that would be bliss? Must have been some ignorant person who said that. I think you are misquoting though. I think the quote is, "If ignorance is bliss, it's folly to be wise," which is totally different.

the whole quote goes like this:
If ignorance is bliss, tis folly to be wise- is what Bill Shakespear had written back in the 1600's
Because- to crib an answer from wise Christians, and wise Buddasts, and wise old people- with age comes wisdom. You watch and observe young people doing stupid things- the same stupid stuff you did 40 years before and you wonder to yourself "Holy Cow- after all this time they STILL HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT?"

Just cuz you are ignorant that you have a disease, doesn't make it a blissful experience. You may be suffering in pain and not KNOW what causes it, but why not just KNOW what the problem is instead of suffering?

no we go to school to get a job that pays well, so we can live a good life.
ignorance is bliss only if the things you ignore are the ones that will destroy you..mentally n physically.... in the long run.
