I agree 100%. I, too, have wondered that for years. I can understand that in the other countries there are children who need help. But, why do we as a country, take it upon ourselves to help when their own governments have failed? Seems to me, that our own country is doing the same to the children here that need help. Imagine how the children from our country feel knowing that our government will help other children in another country and not them. And if I had the means to help in a big way, like the celebrities do, then I would focus on our own first. I don't have much, but I do share what I have with others. Every time someone in our community is put out due to a house fire, I am one of the first ones to start the phone calls (husband is a volunteer firefighter). I also donate to the local pantry with food and clothes when I can. People really have got to start thinking before they just jump on the next charity band wagon and think of our own innocent children first. We need to heal as a whole country, and when we can't even look after our own, then we surely our doomed.

Jena? You are so right. The unfortunate fact is that honestly? No child will ever starve to death in this country except for the poor little baby Patricia Glasgow in San Diego County and that was only because both of her parents were retards that should have been sterilized long before that happened. I know exaactly what you are saying but to be honest, there are not too many children in the United Sates of America that starve to death. Even those of us with no power, will not stand by and let that kind of c r a p happen to our innocents. Love you and thank you for caring. You rock!

Most kids in America are in trouble as a direct result of parents. While in Africa and Asia is because of governments!!!!

AND, we hire the politicians. Stop hiring the ones who don't address these issues. Make this the issue not gay marriage or flag burning.

AMEN, sister. i agree. all of these programs to raise $$$ and we are sending billions to other countries when we have more than enough people to help here. we, as a country, need to take care of our own issues before we should go to any other country in the world. wake up, America, and Bush.

Because its easy to care for someone with whom you're not personally responsible for.

The United States has spent close to 10 TRILLION dollars on kids and poor people so they have better lifes' since the 1960's

Its accomplished rap music, and the anticipated fall of western culture as we know it as white people are now the minority, and blacks and hispanics are now taking over the United States one baby at a time

what are you doing about it yourself? We hear of the dismal condition of children in foster care and the rigidity of the laws. Perhaps, you can start by lobbying to change some of the laws. I'll support your cause if you go for it! =)
