only if you don't know how to drive and you burn out your tranmission, or if you don't clean it well enough when you get done

That is why some cars have protection bars under the tranny. That all depends if you plan to go where there are big holes or not. Going off high curbs that hit the tranny of course will hurt. But then if you asked this question you do not need to go, no matter what we say. We do not know what the course looks like. That is like saying Should I rob a bank and can I get hurt? We do not know what security the bank has. There is always the possibility of getting hurt robbing the bank you know, and possibility of hurting the tranny. Personally, I would not go. Use the 2 G to trick the vehicle out more.

It can cause wear on the tranny sure. Mud can get in it and cause gear or other parts to bind up. If its ur first time out just take it easy, get a feel for ur vehicle offroad. Dont be pressured into doing sumthing that u dont fell right doing. Offroading is sumthing thats takes time to learn how to do properly. Like others have said above wash the vehicle afterwards and make sure u get all the dirt off that u can. Good luck and welcome to the sport.

Heat is the enemy of any auto. trans. A good trans cooler in addition to the stock one carefully placed above splash level will help. Tall-wide m/s tires,350 or taller gear ratio's and locking differentials and proper gear selection will help you to not over-rev the engine. Start shallow and work your way up while keeping an eye on the temp and charge guages. If you have a tachometer learn to match engine scream with max r.p.m.'s and do not exceed.Remember that as this truck muds'up the sound and weight will change.Survey the truck between runs for fitness.

Well the main thing that ruins any tranny is heat.If you have a tranny cooler on it,you should be fine. You'll probably ruin your engine first before the tranny.Just keep the rpms below the redline. If you dont have a tranny cooler,GET ONE!! It sounds like you do alot of off-roading,so it would be in your best interest to have one installed if you dont have one.--Have fun!!

the Z71 is fun to mud in. just becareful though. the mud can get into the trans and bind it up. i took my 1991 Honda accord midding and did better than some lifted trucks! i was visitinga friend in Canada when i did this. i showed them how us good ol American boys do it! also took it other places it shouldnt have gone and climbed lots of hills with it. lol got me home then it died. it was harder on the engine than the trans. but becareful and have fun!

If you have a transmission cooler you should be fine. Just try and keep your RPMs at or below the peak torque. Don't go redlining it all day long. In all actuallity mudding is much harder on your engine than it is on the transmission.

no longer fairly different than the line, it generally relies upon on the form youcontinual it. in case you elect to throw rooster tails that would desire to wreck your transmission in case you hastily grab some traction, like spinning tires on ice and then sliding onto some tough asphalt. you will desire to hardship approximately being in a rapid kit and spinning your tires whilst hastily some thing grabs them. So in case you substitute right into a madman interior the dirt, this is in all probability going to reason some injury.

This all has to do with your driving. Mudding can allow wheel speeds to shoot up fast so if you want to try it, take your chances.
