I know you can buy a home on a VA loan and in most cases you will not have to pay a down payment, As for other assistance you need to call the va office at: 1-800-933-5499 Or go to web site at:www.homeloans.va.gov The web site will tell you all benefits including how to purchase homes and other good info.

Call your local vereran's affaris office. It may depend on how long ago he was discharged. Some benefits have time limits.
I know he's entitled to medical help.
