I want to replace my front door. It measures 84 x 36, which is a bit wider than the standard door on modern homes. Know of a store in Denver where I can get one that doesn't cost a fortune? Thanks.

36' isn't very unusual for an exterior door, but 84 isn't a standard height. What you can do is add 4 inches to the bottom of and 80" door, and then add a brass (or other metal) kick plate, which is a fairly common detail on an entry door for an older home. The extension piece should be made slightly thicker than the door. Fasten it with both waterproof wood glue and screws, which can be countersunk and angled, They don't have to be six inches long to go through the bottom surface all the way through the blank.

There are a lot of sources for kick plates. Here is one: http://www.thehardwarehut.com/door_plates.php?start_no=150

The Door Store on S Santa Fe has a good selection. If they are too expensive, ask them for suggestions of where else to look. You can also look on craigslist for used entry doors from other old houses.
