These are the reason why I do not like the Pakistani government or its culture. They do not have freedom of speech, the concept of human rights is a joke, corruption is so deeply entrenched that government workers accept bribes out in the open, child brides are legal, rape victims must produce four witnesses and violence against women is legal. I could go on and on. Some people could argue that it is their culture and we must respect their culture. I agree to some extent and the US itself is filled with crime, racism and violence. The difference I want to point out is here in the US at least there is the chance of obtaining justice. Human rights are protected under law and an individual has the opportunity to bring his or her case to court. Lets put it this way who here would want to live in Pakistan, would want their children to be raised there, to have their sisters, mothers, daughters raised there? I say put your money where your mouth is.

"...I don't like anybody very much."

(From 'The Merry Minuet,' sung by The Kingston Trio once upon a time way back in the '60s.)

I Don't get the point of this question.

I don't love them either, but I don't dislike them any more than I dislike Arabs, or Namibians or Ugandans. I mean, I am yet to meet one, and even if he ( Or she) turns out to be an shole, I am hardly going to hate a whole country because of him.

Hum rights situation is bad in many countries.

US doesn't really honour them as much either. I remember Rumsfeld sayin that Geneva convention rules areQuaint old regulations that no one cares about. Hmm. Only difference is that in Pakistan the torture their own citizens.

And my family's place is with me, wherever we are. I am sure I would manage to make my own heaven in hell, with love and hope and faith, and of course DVDs of all the seasons Friends, Greys anatomy OC and Coupling ;-) and lots of games.

Disliking them is not going to make the world a better place, is it? But you may be right when you say charity begins at home

Im half pakistani and sometimes I have an issue with the way they act. Their culture does not teach racism and violence and hatred. Its only the very powerful people that have implanting their own rules and beliefs on the people.

I don't have a specific problems with "pakistanis" I have a problem in general with muslims. The real fundamentalist kind.
They are the scum of this earth, and as long as there is one of them left on this earth, there will always be violence. They think their way is the only way... that's fine with me, they're entitled to believe that. But the problem is they think that they're also entitled to terrorize everybody into "their way'... religion of peace my **ss.

From reading your headline I expected this to be a racist rant. Yes, it is evident that Pakistan does not have the same regard for human rights as us. It is their country and they have lived that way longer than we have existed as a nation so you have to lend some weight to that. If you don't like it there don't go there.

It is the government you don't like, not the people. Be careful when you make comment about certain race.

in my opinion, I don't think anyone or culture is like that to begin with.. Situations change them. I guess you just haven't seen their good side.
