The best schools are also the best schools for Pre-Med, so your question is really equivalent to asking which of the UC schools are best.

Berkeley is the best of the UC schools -- so it is best for Pre-Med. UCLA, UCSD and UC-Davis would be the next best. However, all of the UC schools have excellent reputations and would be great schools for pre-med.

The CSU schools are less selective and would not be as good for pre-med.

Note -- the person who said that UC-Davis and UCSD is more science oriented than the other UC schools must be unaware that UC-Berkeley is ranked in the top three in the world for nearly every science and engineering graduate program.

They're all pretty good. All have their advantages and disadvantages. Some have better prestige, but more competition. Some have less prestige, but still pretty tough competition.

Just go to the best one you can and do the best you can. If you get good scores in the courses required by med schools, they don't care too much which UC you took them at. Half the UCs have med schools anyways.

You're talking about the University of California system, right? Well, doesn't matter much anyways.

Well, UCSF (San Fransisco) is pretty much solely devoted to the medical field. But, while they do accept some undergraduates, the majority of their students are graduates and are working towards a higher degree.

After that, I would say UC Davis or UC San Diego. Both are more science and research oriented than the other UCs, so I would gander that they had a good pre-med program.

Pre-med programs are not as important as the real medical program, you can go to any of the pre-med programs and then get into a good medical program. GOOD LUCK:)
