Ouija means yes/no = oui/ja. It is just a board for answering your own questions (or a friend's) yes or no. It is also possible to do that by swinging a pendulum (with elbow on table to steady arm) over a piece of paper marked with a vertical X and arror heads. For example to and from you is "yes" and from side to side is "no." There should also be a circle and arrow head clockwise for "I don't know" and counter clockwise for "I don't want to tell." Sometimes you just don't know the answer to your own question (Will I own a blue Ford 5 years from now?). "I don't want to tell" helps avoid questions that might shock you (Did I kill my dog? Yes you fed it too much but you don't want to tell). The pendulum swings by tiny involuntary muscle movements (especially after you train yourself by asking obvious question) and is far more sensitive than a ouija board; but does the same thing. For those who are very superstitious, the ouija board may give shocking answers without a relief valve such as "I don't want to tell" (Am I talking with the devil? Yes! Then you may think that you actually are). I would use it only as a toy for entertainment and not ask serious questions going beyond that. The pendulum can be used to ask questions that only your subconscious may know (Did I lose my car keys in the house?). A ouija board could do the same but is far more cumbersome. Good luck.

Mmm, good book and I do remember him mentioning the game, but no. I have no idea where you could get it. However, surely any game that is played by the sophisticated like of Mr. Marks has to hold a certain amount of entertainment value.
