They are trying to change their image. They were never about inhumane practices, just a few bad apples gave them that reputation. Hopefully they can do this because there is a need for them. When an honest white man cannot get a job because he is white, there is a need for the KKK. We are becoming a minority in this country and have so in the world. We need an organization who is going to stand up for our rights. The white man has the fewest rights and perks of any race in this country. In a society of political correctness, some one has to stand up for what is right. There is a bona fide need for the Klan, and I think they are realizing that and hopefully they can overcome their bad reputation.

There's less than a thousand of them left and theyre all scattered about so there's not a damn thing they could do for social reform even if they wanted to. In my opinion they have always been about social reform though it is in a negative way. So about the inhumane practices, it depends on what you consider inhumane. I think it's pretty inhumane to elevate yourself above others based on culture. They aren't that much different except they can't get away with the crazy **** they did before and they aren't socially accepted. In short, they have no power whatsoever. The KKK is all about political reform, in short, trying to take over and turn everyone against anyone who isn't an "authentic" pale-skinned Christian American. Sounds kinda like Hitler's plan of "social reform" to me and Hitler is probably burning in hell right now so... i wouldn't advise you to jump on that.

How can they be different? The KKK was formed by racists, run by racists and always will be. It's just a bunch of cowardly, mindless morons who hunt in packs, hiding behind masks. They wouldn't know "social reform " if it bit them on the but. They'll always continue to threaten and harm innocent people because of their color. They make me ashamed to be white

A leopard NEVER changes its spots. It's still the same organization that promotes hatred. Social reform? That's laughable. If they could still get away with lynching, they probably would. The only thing that's probably changed is their list of people they hate. Instead of Blacks, Catholics, Gays and Jewish people, they've probably added Asians, Hispanics, Arabs and Lesbians.

"social reform for white people?" Your kidding right?
A lot of racist hate groups are trying to tone down their public image like this to draw in new members and look less hate-full. Don't be fooled and don't get pulled in!
Look in your soul. Would Jesus exclude anyone because of the colour of their skin?

They are now focusing on Mexicans. The most dangerous element of their society, is their effect on impressionable youth. The leaders incite crimes against whoever, and the kids go out and get drunk, and then ruin their lives forever.
There is no organization. They are watched by feds constantly. They are just like any terrorist organization, not very different from Al Qaeda.

What makes you think hate changes? It doesn't and they are still singing the same old tune. Instead of trying to adjust to society as it is today they are harping on hate filled rhetoric issues. One solution is since one of the MOST popular sayings that they have is to send "African Americans back to Africa" I say that they pack up and go back to Europe! That would solve their problem right there. This land rightfully belongs to the Natives/Original People. ALL other ethnic groups are immigrants. They also burn crosses and claim it's all for Jesus. Somebody NEEDS to tell them that Jesus is described in the Bible as having skin of bronze and hair of wool. And also that He is JEWISH!!!! The KKK claims to hate Jews! That's just two of the ridiculous contradictions about that hate group. It proves how limited they are and makes them look like fools frankly.

They don't really exist as an organization anymore, or they're too scattered and decentralized to make as public an impact.

However, the racist, nativist, anti-semetic, and homophobic feelings still dominate (some) politics and grow strong in minds of many people... and that's just as hideous.

They did lead an anti-immigration march in May, 2006 though, so they still do have that 'nativist' mentality for sure. (Even though white people aren't even natives to this land...)

I honestly can't see any good coming from people who killed women and children along with men simply because of their skin color.
I really hope you don't want anything to do with them especially since you have a child with some non white heritage.

They do not have the same influence with police and politically that they did in the 50's 60's, But they are still dangerous.
