As long as Men keep reproducing and the amount of land stays the same.. you will have war. Religion has just been a tool used to galvanize men into fighting for a cause. Its not the religion that is at fault for this but the men who use it for their own power.

Yes. Anything that might shake the religious boat would be suppressed, no matter what it is. Religion is all about power and the leaders are all trying to keep people's eyes on the church rather than on anything else.

There have been great discoveries cruelly supressed, to be sure - but proving that any one of them would have put a complete end to all warfare would be impossible.

Not any more. The last real example of that was Galileo, and the Catholic church wised up on that one. (It only took them 300 years to do so.)
