Real nice. While they were talking up Anna Nicole Smith on CNN, the bottom scroll read "three soldiers died in Iraq today"

Anna Nicole's story is a distraction, just like all the other celebrities whose existence distracts us from the truth. The better these imposters are at getting our attention, the more money they earn.

No doubt, 3 soliders died in Iraq last Sunday as well. But we didn't hear anything about them, because we were being distracted by the Super Bowl, with its crazy commercials, marching band, and PRINCE! Did you see how many fans were there, standing in the purper rain? Clearly, we care more about Anna, the Juice, Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Madonna, and the rest of these rich SOBs who take our money and stick it up their noses, than we do about a corrupt government that has plummeted us into war.

No, you can't blame the media for this one, my friend. It's us, we're the problem.

Why are so many people so up in arms about the coverage on Anna Nicole Smith's Death? Let's try hard and remember that we live in a free country. Therefore, the media has freedom to cover what they want. And guess what we as American citizens also have the freedom to decide either to continue watching or to not. So what would be the point of complaining? Let's also not forget that the media has tons of pictures and video of her, and probably not the soldiers who have lost their lives fighting for our country. Because they have so much material on her they can go on and on with this coverage. And guess what, people are actually watching and listening to this coverage. As they know, scandels sell.

I personally see it as a slap in the face to our military services. These fallen soldiers need to be honored and remembered. A name or a face for all to see and remember as one that has given all so they can sit comfy and safe at home, complaining about the government, drinking their beer from a lazy boy.

However, instead of honoring them as they should be, they would be a pawn used to fight the "lets pull out of Iraq" "no we need to be there" game going on. It would just feed the fires already burning hot on a issue that the two sides will never see eye to eye on.

So we bring in a women who has entertained millions all over the world, no matter what she did in her life or didn't do, good or bad. Its a safe topic, yet will generate the most money for the reporter(s) who get the chance to interview anyone involved in her life. The more coverage they can provide, the better their ratings. That's not to say that we shouldn't mourn the loss of a mother, another human being despite her mistakes or morals. We should, there is still a baby girl out there who will only know her mother thru the media, good or bad. It comes down to money, publicity and ratings.

Its sad to know that this is what our country has come to. That this is what feeds society in general. Just what does this say about us?? Well that's my 3 cents anyhow....

She doesn't receive more attention than Michael Jackson or O. J. Simpson or Oprah Winfrey have. The people you have mentioned are not exciting in the personal lives. Plain and simple

Anna Nicole got a lot of enjoyment out of looting the rich. Anyone else would be willing to die young if guaranteed to have the kind of live she had.

The soldiers are being looted by the rich, but are such slaves that they are proud to be tools of bullies. We don't need their kind of suckers and scabs in a democracy. Just like the Germans got cheated by Hitler and deserved it for their goosestepping conformity, the Nazi-Cons' boytoy soldiers deserve no memorial.

Someone had blundered:
"Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die."

there have been thousands of people killed in iraq. there is only one anna nicole to report about. it's much easier to do a news piece about one person rather than 3000.

It's just an example of what the media comsiders breaking news that the public "wants" to know. I could care less but I'd be peeved if they fly the flag at half staff.

The media definitely needs to get their priorities straight.
Its a disgrace that the men & women that are fighting for our freedom take a back seat to the death of a druggy!
