No, you are not right.
Answer is (a. 39ft 2nd power.)

(The area S of a triangle is S = ½bh, where b is the length of any side of the triangle (the base) and h (the altitude) is the perpendicular distance between the base and the vertex not on the base.
So, the area of a triangle using data given by you is
=1/2*base*altitude
=1/2*13*6
=1/2*78
=39 ft ^ 2)

Area of triangle = 1/2 * base * height so, Area = 1/2 * 13 ft * 6 ft = 39 ft

I don't know what this "second power" business is all about, but the formula for finding the area of a triangle is: 1/2 X base X height.

So, a triangle with a base of 13 ft. and a height of 6 ft. would have an area of 39 square feet.

(1/2 X 13 X 6)

The formula for a triangle's area is 1/2*b*h

1/2*13*6 = 13*3 = 39

The answer is (a)

the area is half of the base multiplied by the height
so we get
:(1/2)*13*6=3*13=39
so the answer is a)39ft

Think of this triangle as one half of a rectangle of 13 feet length and 6 feet breadth. Draw a diagonal though such a rectangle and you have the triangle. Now, the area of a rectangle is lenght X breadth and in this case, it is 13 X 6 sq.ft. Half of that will be 39 sq. ft.

Instead of trying to remember the formula, think in such lines and you will not have any difficulty.

a. 39 square feet

13x6=78 78/2=39
a triangle area is half of (base times height)

imagine it as a rectangle with an inscribed triangle
as you move the point of the top of the triangle along the top of the box, half of the area of the square is inside of the triangle and half of it is outside the triangle (but still in the box)
it doesnt matter where on that top line the point of the triangle is!

Area formula for a triangle

A = 1/2 bh

A = 1/2(13)(6)

A - 1/2 (78)

A = 78/2

A = 39

The area is 39 feet squared
