I count calories.

I stay on a 1,000 to 1,200 calorie diet. Its easy when you eat fruit and veggies and then the Lean Cuisine meals are approx. 220 to 380 a piece.

I wear a calorie counter watch. You have to burn 3,500 to burn one pound a day.. So I make sure I do that and then when I am done eating I take my total of calories eating for that day which is about 6 pm or so and then I work off that portion of my calories.

I can drop three to four pounds a week doing it this way. Its having control of what goes in and what comes out.

Neither. Get into a rigorous and systematic exercise program and good eating habits will follow. Life is too short to count calories and everyone needs good carbs (whole grains, not the soft white stuff).

Cutting carbs gets rid of fat faster, at least for me. However, if you don't watch your blood sugar level and it becomes to low, you will get sick. Anything from headaches to stomach pains. Also, cutting carbs can make you tired since carbs are energy. Counting calories will make you feel bettter as you are losing the weight, it may just take longer than cutting carbs.

I count calories but you can't always do that so when I just want to eat something without counting it's calories I just have a small portion of it. I don't count fat its not important.
