the weight on a dart depends on the player, phil taylor throws a 24 gram dart, but dennis priestley throws a 14 gram dart.
Bdo playing rules say that a dart can be no heavier than 50 grams and no longer than 12 inches.
my darts are 22 grams.

You will find that the pros's will use the weight that they feel works for them the best. Many of them use darts that are in the 19-23 gram range, but you will find the full range of weights in use. Once a pro finds a weight they like they are likely to stick to it.

no set weight up to the person throwing. they range from 16 to 28ish I throw 23s

most pro's probably won't throw more than a 24g because you start to loose "feedback" after that. I'd go for a 22g or 23g.
