one of my ex-boyfriends is going overseas (today) to Germany to fight in the war, but what would he be doing there? He is only in the army reserve but I really wanna know what he'd do there... any ideas?

He's being staged at one of the military bases in Germany. He might not actually see combat, it's certainly possible that he'll be serving a function at the base for the duration of his deployment.

There is no war going on in Germany. Nothing at all I am sitting here right now in my living room. There were a lot of fireworks on New Years Eve. If he is staying in Germany he will probably do some work on base and have either weekends or at least 2 days a week off.
On the ohter hand the trip to Germany may only be a refueling stop to Iraq or Afghanistan. Then he will be with his Army buddies doing their job and fighting for their lives.
Ok what is his job in the Army? I was in for 21 years and some jobs are more dangerous than others.

He is being placed on active duty and being assigned to a unit. It will make a man out of him.
