Just make sure you get paint for concrete. Cinder blocks are very porous so you may want to prime them first. Use either a very thick roller or a large brush. I prefer a large brush with synthetic bristles to paint blocks. The synthetic bristles are stiffer than natural hair brushes and make it easier to get the paint into all the little nooks and crannies in blocks.

Sure you can. I've used both concrete and non concrete paint. The only difference was the price...great results from either type.
You don't really have to use primer either.Simply hose down the blocks with some water until they are slightly damp. The water fills the pores in the blocks, the paint will stay on the surface of the blocks. One coat will usually do it, and you've saved the cost of the primer.

You must buy a specific product to put on the blocks before you can paint them, or the paint will be absorbed and will not look right. Go to a reputable store, such as Lowe's or Home Depot paint department, for expert advice.

Lowe's and Home Depot carry a variety of stains and paints you can use. Some of them are semi-transparent. We just used a combination of them to do a very long and large wall in a southwestern design. They worked beautifully. The only prep we did was to scrub the wall with a 50/50 mixture of hot water and bleach. It looks great. Just be sure of what you want before you start. Enjoy!

Yes. Cinder blocks however absorb paint and unless you prime them it could take a lot if you want bright vibrant color.

They must be washed with an acid product first. The paint dept. at your hardware store can recommend a good one. Then paint with exterior paint, your choice, set and enjoy!!

They are porous so you should seal them first and they make a concrete/brick paint that is thicker.
