Order some waterlilies, cattails and sweetflag from a water gardening dealer. Plant the cattails and sweetflag along the eastern shoreline so that they cast a shadow over the pond and also shade the fish during the hot parts of the day. Use the lily pads as effective cover for them, and camo for you! These can be let go anywhere in the pond.

have you ever receive quite some coloration over the outdoors, lily pads or different floor flora. ideally 1/2 your pond should be shaded from the solar. not unavoidably by technique of overhanging timber because the leaves in Autumn will reason extra complications rotting interior the water. Get quite some oxygenating weed, uncomplicated Canadian pond weed is nice. possibly you're doing too a lot to it? Why have you ever receive the ultraviolet clear out? perchance in basic terms allow it "relax" for some weeks and word what takes position? I surely have a 30ft x 15ft move fed organic pond, not coated, and it is going a touch "blanket weedy" in spring even as the algae bloom starts yet quickly this clears devoid of intervention once the oxygenating weed kicks in. many of the outdoors is roofed with wide leaved pond weed and later interior the summer lilies.

Get some water lillies and put them in the pond. That your pond is clear is good...you don't want murky water! The lilies will give the catfish something to hide under. Try offering some food so they will be tempted to stick around. Just don't over feed!

If you are wanting the fish to get used to you being there, you should start feeding them food (dog food works great) at certain times of the day. After a week or so, they will be conditioned to humans being close to the edge, and won't swim off. They may even come close, especially if something hits the water that makes a noise close to the noise of the food hitting the water.
