No, they don't, for one reason: sound quality. FM is better at sound quality, AM is better at range, which is why it's used mainly for talk radio. So, even if they did make them, buying one would be a bad decision.

I don't think they make AM transmitters
the sound quality would be bad, much worse than FM
maybe you should upgrade your car stereo.
if your AM radio (not stereo) sounds bad, then the mp3s would sound bad too.

I haven't seen any AM transmiter. But if you still cassette player in your car you can buy one those cassette things for iPods. It will give you better quality sound.
