If it was a bad experience, can you recommend a better motel between USD 50 to 75.

I'm staying for 3 nights between 23 - 30 Mar. Not driving so it has to be near the strip.

What is the price difference between booking online and going to the place to and book there?

There are a lot on nice places in Las Vegas for under $75 if you avoid weekends, special events and large conventions. I will list some below that are "generally" in that price range, and that I consider nice places to stay.

Try the coast casinos >they will price match any online room rate you find for their hotel...
Barbary Coast
Gold Coast
Orleans

The Stratosphere is usually under your price sometimes even for the weekend. It's a nice hotel in spite of what some say, it's the location that most don't like, since it's at the far North end of the strip

If you're driving into town you might try Sam's Town or the Fiesta Henderson, both are very nice, just not that easy to get to.

If I had the days you need a room for, I could give you exact prices and an opinion on each hotel(at the price)...If you will take the time and "add details" to yourQ>dates you need and the amenities you're most interested in. I will see what I can find for you..

these are the sites I use to check LV room rates

I would not stay at Circus Circus..Anyone who gives you a set room price "not knowing" your dates, and without providing a link to that price should be ignored. They would just be making an absurd guess. The same room at the same hotel might be $25 one week and $300 the next, and I have seen worse than that..

If you consider downtown LV I would choose either the Golden Nugget or Main Street Station...The GN is a 4 star hotel that often has room rates in the 2 star range...MSS is one of my favorite places to stay in all of LV..

Later:what I meant was that some hotels will price match the online travel sites and if you can you might as well book with the hotel. There are a couple of advantages this way, you can cancel the reservation without penalty and if you gamble the hotel can reduce or comp your room

You can forget the 23rd and 24th the room rates for those days are very high...I will have to admit, that for those dates I could not find you a super deal..If, you can go any three days(23rd-30th) then the best deal I could find you was on travelworm at the Excalibur for Tue/Wed/Thur the rate was $51 for each of those nights. The Excallibur is a huge 4,000 room hotel and it sits right on the strip, and is located near, MGM, NY NY, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, etc. Excalibur is a nice hotel, it's not a 5 star mega resort, the rooms are clean, there is lots to do, and it's in a great location.

The Stratosphere is $49 each night Sunday through Thursday. The Stratosphere is a nice hotel, some don't like it because of it's location at the far North end of the strip. The strip bus(Deuce) stops right in front and for $5 you can ride anywhere for 24 hours..>also found this one on travelworm

Orleans >$48 on "i4vegas" $50 on travelworm this is unusual TW is almost always a couple bucks cheaper. The Orleans is one of my favorite hotels in LV. Orleans is located off the strip, but they have a free shuttle to the strip, that runs about every 20 minutes. Their rooms are very nice and they have very nice buffet. I have never recommended this hotel to anyone and had them be disappointed. The Orleans was voted by travels as the #2 best value hotel in the world..>the Orleans will price match those online room rates
http://www.orleanscasino.com >to check it out

The Riviera $67 this is one is located towards the North end of the strip. I included this one because it's on the strip and fell within your price range..Under the circumstance it would be my #4 choice

Like I said earlier, if you can go out Tuesday and leave Friday, I would stay at the Excalibur, $51 is a good price and the location is great. The Orleans is much nicer than any of the others, but it's off the strip. And I would stay at the Stratosphere before the Riviera, I like the hotel better and the price is better...

Prices will vary dependent upon the time of year you are going. Kinghts Inn is a POS and not worth the cash. Do some searching, you can find rooms on the strip for less than 75 a night.
