In theory, yes. The country is owned by the people, and must always remain that way -- the government owning the country quickly turns into socialism.

In actual practice... It seems to be more like "We the Majority." Few ever do what's right anymore, and are often criticized because what is right is usually unpopular. All that is required today for something to be right is that it be popular enough to gain the attention of 51% of the population.

**sigh** i don't think so. i think it's more "for the mega corporations and by the mega corporations". America is now a Plutocracy wherein wars are employed to increase the profit margins of Big Oil, The Military Industrial Complex and subsideraries.


just look at Bush's new "budget". deep cuts in domestic needs while HUGE increases for military spending.

Yes it is. But we the people don't know half of what the government knows about the conflicts in the Middle East. So if we the people back off, then our government and soldiers will be able to do their jobs more effectively.

It is - and "we the corps, by the corps" is a meaningless statement - anyone capable of going to Yahoo Answers can go to Yahoo Finance and look up "institutional ownership" of the "corps" - - - "institutional ownership" means pension funds, mutual funds held by your 401-K plan....

"The corps" ARE "the people."
