I heard honey mixed with something to drink can help. But what should I mix it with and how much honey?

Honey mixed with something warm like hot tea is soothing, but in my experience doesn't make your cough that much better. I'm a singer and sometimes after a lot of practice my throat and voice get scratchy and honey helps. I mix in about a tablespoon or so in with a cup of hot tea.

Having a humidifier on will help with coughing and sore throats too. Also, lots of liquids.

If it is a dry cough, you can try butter mixed with ground black pepper. It is a very good remedy. If you have mucus, then you should take prescribed antibiotics as well.

(Note, if you have sinusittis or related problems, you can't do the steaming as mentioned in the first answer)

Steam over a boiling pot is good to help a sore throat and stuffy nose, for a drink try tea with clove honey. A couple tea spoons work great!

honey with lemon juice and hot water.

Start out with juice from half a lemon and a spoonful of honey . Add hot water to fill the cup.

Stir to dissolve the honey.

Taste it, and then add more honey or lemon juice if needed.
