There is no such thing as a Marylin Monroe syndrome. Their deaths have some similarity, but there is no medical term of such.

Okay some of these Answers are down right ridiculous. People need to remember that Anna Nicole Smith was a person and she is dead, and maybe you could show a little respect, just because they both lived similar lives doesn't mean she was trying to imitate anyone. How would you feel after your son died? and although her life was in display for all eyes (horny, evil, jealous, bitchy eyes all around the world). You don't know what was going on with her or what challenge she faced. What's happened with the world today? Where people feel so free that they can go so low as to disrespect the dead? And please spare me the Jackassery. But anyway Anna Nicole Smith didn't become a major icon like Marilyn because I personally think she was born in the wrong time period. Marilyn brought something new to the 20th Century and Anna Nicole was born into today's world which is far more advanced and far more harsher than life was back then. I think if Marilyn was born in this time she would be labeled just as negative people labeled Anna Nicole (a hoar, trash, deserving to die, etc.). If Anna Nicole was born in Marilyn Monroe's time I guarantee she would have been the legend. It's all about Time Periods when comparing these too.

No ... she died in her own right.
Anna Nicole Smith was a little girl, in a woman's body. She suffered from a terrible childhood, the death of her son, mounting legal bills and depression ... and these are only the ones we know about.
All Anna Nicole wanted was acceptance and love. Sure, she may have gone about it in all the wrong ways ... but, if she had a birth mother that loved and guided her ... I think Anna's life may have turned out different. RIP Anna Nicole. :(

Marilyn also killed herself because Kennedy broke it off with her... Don't tell me I am wrong.... Watch the documentaries, read the biographies... She was in love with Kennedy, and for him, she was a fling... Anyway.... Marliyn had to grow up in a broken home with a wacked out mother, so once she was a star, she just did like mommy did....
About Anna, I have not studied her life quite as much, but as the one states above, I believe it was from severe depression, and drug addiction she died. Not intentional, just accidental....

Personally, I don't think it was intentional. If you followed news clips of her since the time her son died, she always seemed drugged and distant.
Her life only paralleled Marilyn's in that she only took a "wee-bit more than usual" to try to get the same effect from a growing dependency on drugs and ended up overdosing in the same, tragic, way.

they were both dysfunctional and too trusting when they shouldn't have been, they didn't have normal to compare their own lives too, thus they survived how they saw fit
Anna is one of many who made the same comments about Marilyn (example, Dorothy Stratten, a another blond bombshell playmate murdered in 1980)

Then she would have died at 36, not 39.
Marilyn was screwing the President and Anna wasn't.
Poly-pharmacy is what Elvis and Marilyn died from. Too many prescriptions from too many doctors.

Well, their lives were similar - they were both beautiful, they both had a certain vulnerability that added to their appeal, and they both died much too young.
RIP Anna Nicole Smith

i heard that too. I think she had too much going on and she was slowly driving herself to something bad. Who knew it would be to her death. The worst part is that her daughter will not have her mother to grow up with...or is that actually a good thing? hmmmm
