Do not blame any bluetooth company for your troubles. Blame Verizon. They decided that to "protect' their customers they would cripple bluetooth.

Verizon Wireless has taken this step in an effort to "protect its users" so I wan informed by the Office of the President. It seems that Verizon has it's own interests in mind when "securing" or "restricting" the bluetooth connectivity to only work with a bluetooth headset and this is all. Verizon says they did this to prevent phones from being "attacked" however I am certain this has also increased their internal sales as well.

FYI if you want to just send portions of a song to your phone to use as a ring tone you can email them to your phone if you have Verizon's wireless data service.

Good luck
