They honestly expected the Iraqis to greet us in the streets as liberators. And so the problems began...

You would first need to answer the question : was there really stability in Iraq. And if there was, what kind of stability did Iraq have. In my opinion (i repeat MY OPINION) the stability that the Iraq government had was there because of military force, oppression, and fear. So if that was the case how can there really be stability. If that is what you claim stability is then you could allow the arm forces to go in there and kick butt and take names. Kill any that oppose the peace process (sounds foolish to me). We need to inspire the people in that area to embrace peace for there sake and help them build a better place to live and work for themselves and there families.
To answer the thought about should we have gone into Iraq in the first place.... well that is a mute point to me we did and we need to finish the task we set out to do and not leave a mess for the generations to come. We can not just leave the task and come home be cause we lost our nerve or the will

That Haliburton becomes the wealthiest government in the world.
And the Middle East dives into full fledged Sunni vs Shite conflict, while Israel gets a reason to use its nukes on Tehran.

Saddam Hussein was charged with 148 counts of murder, torturing women and children, and illegally arresting 399 people. These were only the charges that he could be easily connected to. Hussein should never have been put into a position of such power.

I'm not joking when I say this: Bush expected the troops to march into Iraq as heroes. He expected the fighting to be over within months and barely if any casualties to be piled against the allies.

It was the initial error. I'd like to see some laws on the books that prevent us from nosing around in others peoples business - like selling weapons, propping up dictators, etc..... - powers that the president has gained by osmosis over the years.

Bush proclaimed that we would be greeted with open arms and looked upon as great liberators.
What I find astonishing is that so many Americans are still fooled by this liar!

Building it up was not wrong but going in there when our man(Saddam) stopped listening to our commands was wrong. We should've paid some Iranian assasin to go kill him so they can fight with each other again. It was very stupid of us to go there in the name of "Fighting Terrorism" when Talibans are gaining power again and Osama is still alive!
