In the book, my favorite was Ponyboy (sweet sensitive). In the movie it was Darry (hot!). My favorite part is the fact that they were reading Gone With the Wind while they were hiding out. The very first poem I ever memorized was the one from the book. Nature's first green is gold...

Stay gold, Pony boy. Stay gold.

I read that book about a million times when I was in high school. I've never seen the movie, but my favorite character was Ponyboy and I love the part where he and his friend are hiding out from the law. I have to say that bad boy Dallas comes a close second. He found his heart at the end. I'm glad this great story hasn't been forgotten. It's been around a long time and it's worth having kids read it today. Have a great weekend!

I've read it and love it. I like all the characters and their personalities, but my favorite character is Ponyboy. He's hopeful and loving and isn't quite so afraid to show it as everyone else. My favorite part is the end when things start to look up somewhat, even though bad things have happened that can't be ignored, forgotten, or changed. A friend of mine says that they ruined it in the movie, but I since I personally haven't seen it, I can't really agree with him. I love that book.

I have read it. I like Ponyboy. My favorite part of the book was when they were talking about the golden sunset.
