could be a bad seal but on a diesel you should be able to hear that if its bad enough to cause poor running also a faulty heater plug may let compression past but again you should hear this .check carefully you have not disturbed any wiring plugs or bent any fuel pipes etc when you where fitting them also an outsider but woth looking check the old plugs are complete and that some of one of them has not broken off as this could be in the cylinder and jamming the valves

Did you fit the right size plugs? You might have a bad seal either because the plug is the wrong size, or isn't fitted properly.

The plugs are turned off once the engine is running, so they shouldn't affect drive unless they don't fit.

It sounds like you have not torqued the glow plugs back down properly and are losing compression. Their threads need to be smeared with copper grease before fitting (to stop them seizing in) and they need to be torqued down to a torque wrench setting of 22Nm (16lbf ft). Overtightening them can break the element in the plug and masssively overtightening can break them.

If it is decrease than freezing then your diesel is thick and the engine is having a annoying time pumping it in. If it is somewhat gentle (+5 or warmer) your compressor is on the way out meaning sell rapid earlier you elect a sparkling engine.
