try ERA liquid detergent.
it works best on protein stains.
it works great on what you describe.
i have a dog with that problem and ERA is the only thing that takes the stains out.
pretreat the stains with full strength ERA, let sit for about an hour. then wash in the hottest water possible.
you may have to repeat this, depending on how old the stain is.
DO NOT DRY until the stain is out.
P.S. hope you start feeling better soon!

Here is what I would do.
1) Get a professional stain remover like Joe Campanelli's Stain Remover and spray the items real good and blot off the excess liquid
then,
2) Wash them. Use 5 or 6 capfuls of household ammonia. Be sure to read the instructions on the bottle, it will give you more detailed info regarding laundry uses.

This works on any organic stain:
1.) Make a paste with meat tenderizer and a little water.
2.) Using an old brush, scrub the stain with the paste.
3.) Allow to set for a while, or possibly over night.
4.) Launder as usual.
The enzymes in the meat tenderizer will "digest" any organic material in the fabric removing the stain AND the smell.
GOOD LUCK!!

soak some liquid landry detergent in the area of the stain for approx. 10 minutes before washing.
IF this doesn't get it out, hydrogen peroxide will (will also get out blood stains), BUT, hydrogen perooxide can also bleach it out if not used carefully.

If the problem is that severe, you might want to contact your doctor- could indicate an over-sensitivity or allergy to the medication! Loose bowels is one thing, but completely uncontrollable bowels is abnormal.
Wash it in the washing machine and you shouldn't have a problem. You could spray it with Febreze if it wants to linger a bit.
