Deep Purple Version with Ian Gillan as screamer was much heavier in 1969 than Joe South´s orig. version. And what do you think ?

That's friggin crazy that you just asked that. I just busted out an old classic rock mix CD that it was on and I was blaring it yesterday. The live version rocks. It was Deep Purples version and I honestly do like it better than Joe Souths version...not often do I like covers over originals though...

Yes, I liked Deep Purple's version of Hush, and remember it well. Although for Deep Purple, it's not as heavy as 'Space Truckin' or 'Highway Star'. Yes, I also heard Kula Shaker's version, which is a very good effort. Now, if I could only remember Joe South's...

I have both songs but prefer Deep Purple

deep purple was a great cover , but joe south is a great writer he also did games people play.
