the Z06 ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! the Z06 is faster top end, 0-60 and 0-100. the GT nips it by 2 10ths of a second in the 1/4 mile. The Z06 is safer, get better fuel economy, looks better, costs a lot less and it beats 200k super cars! and it doesnt need a super charger to be fast! plus the Corvette has much cooler features. imagine how slow the gt would be w/o its supercharger. but, if you wanna make it kinda even, put a supercharger on the Z06 and we'll see what happens. that gt would get BLOWN AWAY! whay dont you see the gt in the GT1 class with the Corvette C6R? oh thats right, THE GT SUCKS!!!! the ONLY ford product that can compete wit hthe C6R in the GT1 class is the Aston Martin and it still gets its *** kicked by the C6R. anyway. sorry for the rant. but its the Z06 ANY DAY! and to the answerer before me.......the Corvette is cheap to maintain. they dont make the gt anymore either.....long live the Corvette!

I would take the GT, I like the Z06 just so you know this isn't a chevy sucks, ford rules opinion. The GT was made for track racing, I saw something on BBS Top Gear where a GT beat a Ferrari (a new model of some sort) through the twisties.

427 small block, naturally assperated, 7000 rpm red line, 500+ horse power, 0-60 3.8 sec., 1.87 g's on the skidpad, 198 top end, 11's quarter mile, mid 20's mpg, all this and more for half the price.
Z06 is in a class all it's own alot of reasons
do the reserch, there are several sights that compare Z06, gt, and viper. All the sights have the same conclusion-
Z06 is number one!

Ford GT. They are just a different class of car and something you don't see everyday. The Z06 is awesome and has similar performance, but the GT is in more of a Ferrari/Lamborghini exotic class when you consider everything.

Just 1 yr in the past we had been counting the numerous blessings of the C6 Corvette: leaner, meaner, dimensionally tidier, better-looking, and tons much more power. Impressive. And just as we did subsequent the changeover from C4 to C5, we discovered ourselves speculating on the techno impediment posed by this world-class sports car. How, we wondered, tend to be they at any time gonna leading this? Well, we experienced a fairly fantastic concept of the reply to that question. You say the 400 horsepower of the Vette's regular 6.0-liter V-8 ain't fairly equal to your need for speed? Well, then, how about a 7.0-liter V-8 churning up 505 horsepower in a Vette that is 141 pounds lighter than the regular car? Capable of 11.7 seconds and 125 mph in the quarter-mile. Knife-edged reflexes. Raceworthy brakes. We tend to be clearly discussing the new $65,800 Z06, which enriches the Corvette lineup for 2006 with supercar overall performance at a bargain price. But that is not the only upgrade. There's as well a new six-speed paddle-shift automated transmission for the 6.0-liter Vettes, 1 of the much more effective examples of this two-way tranny technologies we have encountered. All this, and comfort, too. That was not generally the case. And high quality construction has not generally been a component of the deal, either. But the hard-riding, rattle-prone Vettes of yesteryear tend to be history. Standard Vette, convertible, or Z06—for the money, these star-spangled sports cars offer an unbeatable combination of performance, style, and shocking utility. caranddriver website/bestcars/103... even as a gift, the Ford GT would be the choice, because it's nicer and worth a heck of a lot more, more expensive gifts are usually nicer, besides if you don't like it, you can easily sell it and buy two Corvettes! :)

I would tate the ford GT, they give a better ride and is less costly both in buying the car and paying insurance on them. Even if you receive them as a gift your upkeep would be less on the ford.
